The Bee Q & A
Just so you know.

Who's your inspiration?
Dolly, obviously — she’s the ultimate Queen of Country. I also love artists like P!NK, Amy Lee, Carrie Underwood, LeAnn Rimes and Lainey Wilson.
Growing up, I was inspired by powerhouse vocalists such as Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Barbra Streisand and Mariah Carey. I’ve always been drawn to singers who can move people and truly connect through emotion.

How would you describe your sound?
I’d describe my sound as modern country with a British twist — polished, punchy and driven by strong, catchy songwriting. I’ve always focused on working with the right producers to create a sound that’s both memorable and radio-ready.
From stompy, high-energy tracks to more emotional, stripped-back songs, every detail matters — from the lyrics to the instrumentation — to make sure it truly connects.

Who would you collaborate with?
Honestly… everyone! I love collaborating and connecting with other artists. There’s so much talent out there, and I’m always open to new opportunities to write, perform and create something special together. It’s all about seizing the moment and seeing where the music takes you.

What's next for BUCKLE N BOOTS?
More original music, more travelling and more opportunities. I’m really excited to keep developing as an artist and sharing my music with new audiences. Nashville and Australia are definitely on the wish list — but ultimately, I’m open to wherever the road takes me.
With BUCKLE N BOOTS gaining momentum over the past couple of years, I’ve learned the importance of slowing things down and making time for my family. It’s all about finding that balance while continuing to grow.

Favourite country song of all time?
Ooo, that’s a tough one! “Then” by Brad Paisley has to be up there — it was the song I walked down the aisle to in Vegas, so it’s really special to me. I also love “The Gambler” by Kenny Rogers.
More recently, I’d say “Wildflowers and Wild Horses” by Lainey Wilson and “Liar” by Jelly Roll. And representing the UK, “A Thousand Hallelujahs” by The Shires is a favourite.
It’s almost impossible to choose just one though — I’ve always loved artists like Dolly Parton, Alan Jackson, John Denver, Johnny Cash, Zach Bryan, Zach Top, Megan Moroney, Carrie Underwood, Gretchen Wilson and LeAnn Rimes. The list is endless!

What keeps you motivated?
My children are my biggest motivation, along with my friends and, ultimately, the fans who support what I do. There are always highs and lows — it’s a real rollercoaster — but even in the tougher moments, I remind myself why I started.
The love I have for music, and the people around me, keep me grounded and pushing forward.

What challenges do you face?
Like many independent artists, one of my biggest challenges is balancing time, family and finances. Investing in music — from studio time to videos — is always a risk, especially as a mum, but it’s something I believe in and am committed to building for the future.
I came into the industry later than most, so time is always on my mind, but it also pushes me to make the most of every opportunity. Being a British artist in a traditionally American genre is both daunting and exciting, and it’s been a real learning curve finding my place and staying consistent.
While I feel completely at home on stage, I can find busy social environments overwhelming, and I’ve learned to embrace that as part of who I am. Through it all, my love for country music keeps me grounded and moving forward.

What might suprise people about you?
I’m full of little contradictions! I’m quite a homebody and can find busy environments overwhelming at times, but put me on stage and I’m in my element. I'm a stimmer with a nervous tick, which I’ve learned to embrace.
Outside of music, I work in a specialist school in Surrey, and before this I was a veterinary nurse and even worked as a zookeeper. I also used to be part of a vintage trio band, I've been a singer for 8 years.
I love trains, trucks and Formula 1, I’m a big fan of McFly, and I enjoy musical theatre. I hate wasps, I’m not one for whiskey or tequila — unless it’s a Tequila Rose — and one thing about me… I don’t like surprises!
